Gobble Gobble

So I hosted the Thanksgiving dinner thing this year. I don't like Thanksgiving food all that much, but I would rather eat my own and know what is in it than go to someone elses home for mystery casseroles. I don't eat meat either which makes it all the more fun. I just don't get all the carby heavy food and carcass on the table. I made squash, mashed potatoes, ham, dressing, fresh cranberry relish and picked up a Cajun fried turkey. Bellini thinks Thanksgiving is the best ever.....lots of bread and bird. I hope you had a wonderful turkey day too!

The Rules

1. Get there early and stand in line. Bring a hot drink. Do not squawk that it is cold or early.
2. Do not push or shove.
3. Know where you are going.
4. No kids.
5. No stollers.
6. No walking devices.
7. Have coupons ready and organized.
8. Take the bags back to the car so that you do not walk with Bag Girth.

I love the best shopping day of the year. I made out like a bandit at both Macy's and Parisian. I was there at 4:45am and left around 10:30am took a nap and then headed to the farm in Guyton. It was a good time.

I am that driver

On a recent trip to Costco I was driving. I was behind an old car that was moving at a turtle's pace. So slow it missed going through two green lights. After we sat through one full cycle on the second green light cycle I honked. I honked some more and he started going 5mph and then slowed for the yellow light. The traffic behind me was honking. People beside us were honking. Everyone was honking. Then I noticed it: my beefy horn had turned to a meep-meep. I wore my horn out. The car does not even have 50k on it. I guess sometime you just have to let people know and that is how I do.

Tina, Eat Your Ham!

So there are somethings that need some splainin' Lucy:

1. No, we do not feed our cat chocolate or peanut butter or allow her to drink underage. I had the camera in my lap the split second she started and snapped a pic and shooed her away.
2. Why pick the vegetarian to cook two hams for office party Thanksgiving? My house smells like a HoneyBaked Ham store.
3. I want a part time holiday job for the discount. The money would be good too. I think it will actually have a negative money flow effect.
4. It is NOT too early to decorate for Christmas.
5. It is too early for me to be scraping my windshield in the morning.
6. Wearing calf boots and a mid length (just above the knee) skirt is not slutty.

Breathing Better

Quiet frankly Rumsfeld scares me. Scares me too much. When he (finally) announced he was packing up I must admit I smiled so much my toes curled. As a bonus the Democrates will be in place to keep our president in line. Enough to let the checks and balances system take place like we all learned in 5th grade. All this around Veteran's day. Thank a Vet for giving us the freedom to vote idots in and idots out. Atleast thank a Vet for the sales going on this weekend. And for your viewing pleasure here are highlights from Rumsy's career.....

Monday Part II

It really was a crap day. Rainy and yuck in Atlanta. Someone where I work in a different department thought I was a glorified customer service rep and asked when I would get a real job. Yeah, try doing what I do. It is a craft, an artful "dance", and I enjoy my job or even better career.
I have to go back to the paint store for the 5th time to get a better paint match for the money pit's exterior. Needed to do it today but I could not.
Borat called at 7:30 this morning. He has called every morning this week. I can't wait til he is settled. Glorious! Simply glorious!!
Only Georgia would elect Sonny. It makes me cringe.
The best part of my day was a large gingerbread non fat latte with no whipped cream. Yum.
Here is Bellini gettin' all civic with it!

Girl in a Bubble

This weekend we are having all of the ceiling in the house painted (finally). When we moved in to the money pit 3 years ago we worked on everything but the ceilings. Given that they are 12 foot and I am 5'3" you can see the problem. We did the right thing and hired out for this one. The painters are hard core. They have taped off and put sheets of plastic everywhere. Thus, I am the girl in the bubble. I get stuck in a section of the house as they have rooms blocked off with plastic. I have dust everywhere and most of the ceilings are completed at this point. It looks good.

They are also scraping and painting the outside of the house. We just had it painted 2 1/2 years ago but it needs it already. The joys of an old house!!

The last thing for the money pit I really care about that is on my list is ripping out and replacing our main bathroom. I hope to do it next year.

As for now I have all the hair on my body raised as they sand the joint compound from the filled areas to make it smooth for painting and the house looks like it has Chicken Pox on the exterior.

It has been 2 weeks

It has been two weeks since IT happened. I think I can talk about it now with out stringing together nothing but curse words.

My Purse was stolen.

Not just any purse folks: my Prada purse. I felt so violated. I still do in fact. This happened the week before we were set to leave on a week long cruise. My license, my social security card, my iPod, my credit cards, my MAC makeup, my Tiffany & Company bracelet, but the only thing I cannot replace: my Nana's pill box.

I was shopping at Publix (regional grocery store that rocks) and I was being a good shopper and putting my cart up when it was taken from my locked car. Luckily I still had my keys and cell phone. I was not harme in any way.

This is the only time I have ever yelled at the fab hub in rage. I don't know if he really knew what to think about that. I felt even worse.

After we had searched the parking lot and area trash cans to look for the discarded purse we came up with nothing. He took me to Holiday Lane at Macy's. I love Christmas decorations. All the happiness and sparkley stuff and lights really makes me happy. He took me to the MAC counter so I could replenish my makeup. This made me feel a little better. I love the fab hub. I hate the person that has my bag.

I have replaced the bag with a similar one from Prada. Still not use to it. I got a new wallet from Prada that I love. I wish I could get the pill box back....it was passed down to me.

Where I have been

So I finally had vacation. The fab hub and I had a wonderful 7 day cruise. We hit Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, Grand Cayman, and Costa Maya. We had such a good time. Had lunch at a Margaritaville and some drinks, swam with sting rays and fully relaxed and rested. The sting rays were my favorite. Carlos with Kirk Sea Tours taught me how to hold them and I fed them octopus. They feed by sucking food in.....I got a sting ray hickie on my hand from feeding them.
We had a 5th deck balcony....this was so nice. Having a snack on the balcony rocks! Our travel agent sent 3 bottles of wine and we traded them in for champagne in the dining room. We had a drink of the day everyday and a new towel animal every night. We were awarded our 25 day at sea pins too. I love Holland America!

For all my love and enjoyment I still have a hint of vertigo.
